The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) is run by 980 highly skilled, unpaid volunteers who are on standby day and night throughout the year. Donations and sponsorships cover their annual running cost of R25m, with the volunteers saving them a salary bill in excess of R250m per annum. The NSRI crews put their lives at risk in order to save the life of stranger and will voluntarily go to sea in the worst conditions, to help anyone in need.
St Luke’s Hospice care for about 800 patients on any one day, with more than a quarter of our patients aged between the ages of 20 and 35.
There are 12 community hospices spread throughout Cape Town, including almost 200 staff members and more than 650 volunteers.
Patients are cared for without cost to the patient (unless the patient has a medical aid) and costs can run over R20 million a year.
The South African Red Cross Society is part of the world’s largest humanitarian Movement and is neutral and impartial, providing protection and assistance to people affected by disasters and conflicts. The Movement is made up of almost 97 million volunteers, supporters, and staff in 186 countries. They support communities in becoming stronger and safer through a variety of development projects and humanitarian activities. The Movement also works in cooperation with governments, donors and other aid organizations to assist vulnerable people around the world.
New Somerset Hospital is the regional general specialist hospital for the metro west district of the Cape Metropole and offers a range of general specialist services to a population exceeding 500 000 people. Services include a 24hr emergency centre, specialist paediatric, surgical, medical, orthopaedic, obstetrics and gynaecology departments. Care of acute psychiatric disorders and some subspecialty services also exist. There are supporting radiology and anaesthesiology services.

The Service Engineer is required to be part of a team of agents used for the purpose of receiving a large volume of calls, to administer incoming product support or information inquiry for customers to insure that incoming calls are managed efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Install electronic equipment as per service agreement at a customer within the given SLA
- Complete repairs within the given SLA
- Service, install, maintain, upgrade products and solutions with new versions as per planned schedules setup when products and solutions is received
- Training of new and existing customers
