Multi Million Rand Contract Awarded to Combustion Technology

After months of behind the scenes negotiating and compiling of reports and tender documents, Combustion Technology and their BEE partner, TR_Mechanicals have been awarded the contract to upgrade the boiler system at the Johannesburg Hospital in Gauteng to fire on Natural Gas.

The project which will take approximately seven months to complete will go a long way in assisting the government with their plans towards a cleaner environment.

The boiler system at the Johannesburg Hospital is antiquated, inefficient coal fired producing high levels of CO2 and pollution and past overdue for replacement.

  Saving Energy – A Priority

We do not have to say too much about the energy crisis we are experiencing at the moment but while we think that our individual contribution counts nothing in the big scheme of things, we are wrong. The average household has up to 12 gadgets left on standby or charging at any one time. That’s a lot of wasted energy! Unplug your chargers when not in use and switch off the lights when you leave the room.

Superior Service for Client Vasco Cheese

Mr Vasco of Vasco Cheese in Cape Town needed to replace his existing cast iron boiler towards the end of 2007. He specified the boiler that he required but his supplier did not deliver the correct one. He then contacted Combustion Technology late one afternoon requesting urgent assistance.
Fortunately we had a boiler in stock that could be used and our team were on site within a few hours and worked through the night to ensure that his downtime in the factory was kept to a minimum.
Yet another story on how Combustion Technology went the extra mile for their client!

  Riello Italy Phases Out Boilers

Starting in January 2008 Riello Italy has started to phase out the 2RCT Cast Iron Pressure Jet Boilers. These boilers have been in production for over 20 years and will now be replaced by the new and highly improved Tregi N and NK Series of Boilers.

The old 2RCT boilers had no thermoregulators and along with having to be assembled on site, they were difficult to maintain.

The new Tregi Series boast new aesthetics along with a brand new state of the art control panel. Maintenance is also far easier with a hinged door  for easy access. Read more about the available models on our website

  Climate Change Resolution by Government

The ANC Conference is Polokwane during December created huge media coverage but the resolution on climate change that was passed during the conference did not and is a critical milestone for the country.
The Government has sent out a strong signal to the world that it is committed to climate change. To meet the targets South Africa will have to introduce energy efficient improvements in industry, and households and set fuel efficiency standards. They will also need to diversify energy sources through nuclear energy and renewable sources especially solar power. This is especially relevant one month later with the Eskom fiasco!

Marthinus Van Schalkwyk said that although certain processes should still be followed to convert policy resolutions into government policy, the climate change resolution by the governing party's conference was "a strong signal to the world and a commendable step forward."
